Job Title: L2 and L3 NOC Specialist

Overview: We are on the lookout for a skilled L2 and L3 NOC Specialist to join our Network Operations Center (NOC). The ideal candidate will bring 4-6 years of dedicated experience in NOC operations, demonstrating a solid understanding of network monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management. As part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our network infrastructure using advanced tools, including the Elastic Stack. This role requires a commitment to shift-based operations, where you will respond to critical incidents in real-time, working collaboratively to maintain high levels of service availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Monitoring & Incident Resolution:
- Actively monitor network performance, promptly identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal service levels.
- Utilize advanced monitoring tools to detect anomalies and mitigate incidents effectively.
Elastic Log Management:
- Leverage the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for comprehensive log analysis and real-time network monitoring.
- Analyze logs to troubleshoot issues and improve system performance.
Shift-Based Operations:
- Manage network operations during designated shifts, ensuring continuous 24/7 uptime and service availability.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth handover between shifts and maintain operational continuity.
Escalation Management:
- Address escalated issues from Level 1 support and, when necessary, escalate complex cases to Level 3 support.
- Serve as a point of contact for high-priority incidents, facilitating timely resolutions.
Proactive Monitoring:
- Implement proactive monitoring techniques to prevent potential network disruptions before they impact service.
- Use predictive analytics to anticipate and resolve issues proactively.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed incident logs and document troubleshooting steps to support knowledge sharing and future reference.
- Provide regular reports on network health and incident resolutions to management.
Critical Skills:
Real-Time Network Monitoring:
Proven experience with monitoring tools, particularly the Elastic Stack, to manage and resolve network issues in real-time.Troubleshooting & Incident Management:
Exceptional troubleshooting skills, capable of diagnosing and resolving network issues, device failures, and performance degradation swiftly.Elastic Stack Expertise:
Hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack for network log aggregation, analysis, and real-time monitoring.Shift Operations:
Ability to effectively manage incidents and ensure service continuity during shift operations, including handling critical issues in a 24/7 environment.Network Protocols:
Proficient in essential network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and VPNs, along with experience in managing network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.Security Awareness:
A solid understanding of network security practices, including vulnerability monitoring and mitigation of DDoS attacks.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years in NOC operations, with at least 2 years in a Level 2 role.Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent qualifications.Elastic Expertise:
Strong proficiency with the Elastic Stack for effective log management and real-time network monitoring.Automation Knowledge:
Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Nagios, or Zabbix for enhancing network monitoring and management processes.Shift Flexibility:
Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary to support operational needs.
