Position Overview
Contour Software is seeking an IT Helpdesk Representative to join our Karachi office. This role is crucial in assisting the existing IT and Network Operations team to ensure that our computer network performance meets both company standards and user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- First Point of Contact: Serve as the primary support for end-users regarding computer systems and networks through the IT Helpdesk.
- Network Support: Collaborate with the Network team in designing and configuring local wired, wireless, and voice systems.
- Diagnostics Management: Manage the daily activities of local network systems and perform necessary diagnostics.
- System Installation and Administration: Oversee the installation, administration, and testing of operating systems, software, switches, cabling, and other network-related components under the guidance of the Team Lead.
- Network Security Procedures: Assist the Network team in developing, monitoring, and implementing network security protocols to safeguard all networking systems.
- Documentation Maintenance: Keep detailed records of completed and ongoing work; update network documentation to reflect installations, upgrades, and configurations.
- Network Management Programs: Manage network management applications and assist the Team Lead in preparing network status reports.
- Issue Prioritization: Effectively prioritize the remediation of issues in an environment that requires critical uptime.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is required.
- Certifications: CCNA certification in Routing & Switching or Security, and Microsoft Certified Professional in Server Infrastructure are highly desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with networking protocols and standards, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, WDS, Windows Operating Systems, and VPN technology.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Interest in Technology: A keen interest in computer hardware, operating systems, and networks is expected.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent troubleshooting abilities are a must.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Linux servers and firewalls.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
