Job Overview
The Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation is actively seeking a highly motivated full-time employee to contribute to the management and expansion of its channel programs. This pivotal role is designed to support OCP’s global community of members, which includes manufacturers, systems integrators, component manufacturers, original design manufacturers (ODMs), and data center operators. The primary focus will be on assisting OCP Solution Providers, overseeing the OCP Marketplace, expanding participation in the Solution Provider Program, and developing strategies to help members bring OCP designs to wider markets through various channel-related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Channel Program Support
- Strategy Development: Assist in the creation and execution of effective strategies aimed at growing OCP’s channel programs, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of members.
- Member Support: Provide OCP members with detailed information about the Solution Provider Program, equipping them with the necessary tools and resources to thrive.
- Program Expansion: Work to expand the program by onboarding new members across the supply chain sectors, including systems integrators, ODMs, and component manufacturers.
Marketplace Management
- Marketplace Oversight: Manage the OCP Marketplace by regularly editing, updating, and adding product listings to keep the platform current and relevant.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with the VP of Emerging Markets to align the Marketplace offerings with strategic goals and ensure it delivers value to OCP members.
- User Experience Enhancement: Improve the overall user experience by ensuring the Marketplace is functional and accessible for all members.
Member Engagement and Value Addition
- Member Engagement: Actively engage with global members to understand their needs and identify opportunities for increased involvement in OCP initiatives.
- Advisory Support: Guide members on how to maximize their participation in OCP’s Solution Provider Program, ensuring they derive the greatest benefit from their involvement.
Expanding the Solution Provider Program
- Program Growth: Assist in broadening the Solution Provider Program by onboarding new members and enhancing its visibility on a global scale.
- Promotional Initiatives: Develop initiatives to promote the program among resellers and system integrators, ultimately expanding its market reach.
Support for OCP Experience Centers
- Engagement Activities: Contribute to the activities surrounding OCP Experience Centers, ensuring these venues provide substantial value for members while showcasing the latest OCP technologies.
- Collaborative Strategy Development: Collaborate with OCP team members to devise strategies aimed at increasing member engagement and participation in the Experience Centers.
Influencing Partnerships and Ecosystem Collaboration
- Relationship Building: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within the hardware ecosystem, the IT vendor landscape, and open-source communities to strengthen OCP’s partner network.
- Strategic Collaboration: Leverage influence to foster collaboration and strategic partnerships that enhance member engagement and expand OCP’s global presence.
Strategic Planning
- Input on Strategy: Assist in providing insights on strategies to support Solution Providers in effectively bringing OCP designs to broader markets, ensuring scalability and program growth.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position should possess proven experience in channel program management, sales, or partner development, particularly within the data center hardware and IT vendor landscape or related fields. A strong business acumen is essential, along with the ability to engage in executive-level discussions. Familiarity with and passion for the data center hardware ecosystem, the IT vendor landscape, and open-source communities is crucial.
Strong project management skills are required, enabling the successful multitasking and prioritization of tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in IT tools such as Salesforce, Power BI, and Google Business Apps is also necessary. Excellent communication and relationship management skills are vital for influencing stakeholders without direct authority. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is important, as is experience with global teams and a solid understanding of supply chain dynamics.
